On behalf of our entire team here at Rainmaker, let me say that I hope you had a great close to 2016 and that your 2017 is already off to a great start.
I have a few important updates to share with you — one being a quick glance forward at what’s to come with the Platform over the next handful of months, and the other being an exciting announcement about an educational webinar series that will kick off the first week in February.
Let’s start there first.
Announcing the Rainmaker Site Building Roadmap
Chris Garrett and I have been discussing and planning this for a few months now. We’ve alluded to it in some of our recent webinars.
And now we’re ready to move forward with it, with you right there beside us. Which makes sense, since the whole idea is to help you build a bigger, better, more profitable Rainmaker Platform website. 😉
Here’s how we’ll roll this out …
Beginning in February, we’ll have four educational webinar sessions each month. There will be a theme for the month, with a how-to/tutorial session every other week and a related Q&A in between.
For example, February is about building your Minimum Viable Website.

You’ll notice that all sessions are on Wednesday. This enables us to keep the schedule consistent, and gives you plenty of time between each webinar and Q&A to identify what your most pressing questions are. (We’ll send out the link to the Q&A question submission forms after each webinar.)
To accommodate as my people as possible with our live events, we are varying their start times. Of course, the replays will be available on-demand soon after the live events are over.
While the following is subject to change as we move through the webinars, and identify and respond to your needs and questions, here is the current outline for the rest of the Rainmaker Site Building Roadmap:

And then we have the rest of the year to add sessions for new features or in response to your requests.
Chris and I (along with the many members of our documentation, support, and multimedia teams, who will be invaluable in helping us put this together) are pumped about this opportunity to give you more hands-on guidance about how to make best use of the Platform.
The goal for this roadmap is nothing short of showing you a clear path from setup to revenue and then, hopefully, profit.
If you’re willing to put in the work, we’ll show you the way. Let’s do this! 🙂
What’s coming in the Platform?
The development roadmap that we discussed in the December newsletter remains the pathway forward.
A couple quick notes about some of the features I know you’re looking forward to the most:
- The Visual Page Builder continues to evolve — and we want your feedback to make it better. This feature is already in Labs, so please be sure to activate it, use it, and provide your feedback to our support team, who will then deliver it to the dev team..
- More integrations are on the way — and we’re working on a big picture solution that will allow you more flexibility and choice in what you integrate with, in addition to the single-feature integrations built into the Platform currently.
Something else I found interesting in one of my recent chats with Chris is an impending update to the Rainmaker development process that at first blush seems like a “So what?” from your perspective as a customer … but actually is pretty significant.
I won’t get into the nitty-gritty details of how Chris and the dev team are improving their process, but here’s what the biggest benefit will be to you and me as users of the Platform: a quicker turnaround for fixing issues without impacting ongoing feature development.
So, basically, when you or I find a bug, or have a suggestion for improving a current feature, it will be faster and simpler for the dev crew to implement the fix.
This process isn’t especially slow as it is, but it can impact the development of new features. Now the whole train won’t have to stop, so to speak.
Fewer bugs. Better features. Shorter, more focused sprints to new features.
